Northern Nash (6-4, 3-1 Big East)  … It wouldn’t be out of the question to think the Knights would still be reeling after an epic five-set loss to Nash Central. The Knights led in all five sets and lost by only two points in each set. Coach Patricia Haggerty saw what the Knights were capable of last Tuesday.

Rocky Mount High … Led by a pair of middle hitters – Sakeya Battle and Tia Hudgins – the Gryphons are trying to forget about a sluggish week that also was the most difficult of the season, coach Tabitha Wilcox said. After some rest this past weekend, Rocky Mount expects a very intense match against its biggest rival.

Key matchup … The Gryphons weakness is their serve receive, and against Northern Nash’s strong front line, Rocky Mount will need sharp, crisp initial passes.
