Fortune magazine and the Great Place to Work Institute have named Edward Jones to their list of the 100 Best Workplaces for Women, a release says.

The financial services company ranked No. 31.

Workplace culture experts at Great Place to Work developed the listing based on an anonymous survey of 135,600 employees at U.S. companies. Factors considered included fairness of a company’s promotions, who has access to information and leadership, the level of support for employees’ personal lives and the degree of inclusiveness and connection workers feel with colleagues.

“Attracting women to our opportunity is a key part of our firm’s growth strategy,” Jim Weddle, managing partner of Edward Jones, said in the release. “We strive to be a family-friendly workplace for talented individuals.”

Edward Jones provides financial services to almost 7 million U.S. and Canadian clients through a network of 14,000-plus advisers, including 10 among Rocky Mount, the Battleboro community, Nashville and Tarboro. Its headquarters is in St. Louis. For information, go to
