Wireless carrier U.S. Cellular and its partner, King Street Wireless, will launch a 4G LTE wireless network in March in Rocky Mount that will serve 25 percent of its customers.

The network will offer capabilities such as smoother movie streaming and video chatting.

“With 4G LTE speeds, you can quickly get what you want when you need it,” Kimberly Sebastian, the carrier’s Eastern North Carolina sales director, is quoted as saying in a news release. “We’re excited to be the first to bring these speeds to our Rocky Mount customers.”

In addition to Rocky Mount, the carrier also will offer the service in Greenville and in markets in Iowa, Wisconsin, Maine, Texas and Oklahoma.

The move comes as U.S. Cellular prepares to start selling the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet and Samsung Galaxy S Aviator smartphone.
