Center offers free business courses

The Small Business Center at Nash Community College has scheduled a series of free seminars for November.

The programs run from 6-9 p.m. in Room 8255 of the Continuing Education and Public Safety Building.

The programs are:

  • Nov. 2 – Hootsuite for Business Owners, Part 1 – An introduction to the Hootsuite social media management system. Participants are urged to bring their laptop computer or pad.
  • Nov. 3 – Maximizing the Benefits of Google’s Hummingbird – How to optimize web content to improve search results for Google’s new search algorithm.
  • Nov. 9 – Hootsuite for Business Owners, Part 2 – Continuation from Part 1 held Nov. 2. Participants are urged to bring their laptop computer or pad.
  • Nov. 12 – Dynamite Marketing on a Firecracker Budget – Tips on how to define a target market and conduct inexpensive and effective market research design.
  • Nov. 17 – Bookkeeping and Taxes – Introduction to accounting basics, payroll and sales tax calculations and how to prepare a financial statement.
