Davenport Buick GMC is sponsoring a series of end-of-season youth flag football bowl games and a fundraising project for leagues run by the Harrison Family YMCA.

The dealership is giving the Y football equipment kits. The games will be Tuesday at the Y’s athletic field. The game at 7 p.m. Tuesday is for 4- to 6-year-olds, followed by a game at 8:15 p.m. for 7- to 9-year-olds.

The fundraiser project is participation in a Southeastern U.S. drawing for a 2012 GMC Terrain sport-utility vehicle. Tickets are $5 and will be available at the games, at the Y during business hours or by calling its sports director, Alex Langley, at 972-9622 ext. 234. All of the proceeds will go to the Y’s sports program.

“GM, the YMCA, and youth football: It’s a great combination, and we are excited to be part of this year’s effort,” Davenport’s Neil Nelson is quoted as saying in a release. “We are proud to be able to help the kids in our community by donating equipment and giving them the opportunity to raise much needed funds for their league.”
