RALEIGH – Fastline, an international farm equipment marketer, has donated $6,700 to the American Red Cross Eastern North Carolina Region for disaster relief following Hurricane Irene.
Maria Zone, a Fastline marketing consultant, presented the donation to Lynwood Roberson, the Red Cross’ regional executive and the director of the Rocky Mount-based Frederick E. Turnage Chapter, at the office of N.C. Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler. The donation was a corporate match of employee contributions to hurricane relief.
“The Red Cross is grateful that Fastline has recognized our efforts to provide relief for hurricane victims” Roberson is quoted as saying in a news release. “The Red Cross opened 57 shelters in eastern North Carolina, making it the largest sheltering operation in North Carolina since Hurricane Floyd in 1999.”
Fastline, a privately held company founded in 1978, is the largest agricultural equipment database in the world. Its headquarters is in Kentucky, and its N.C. office is in Sanford. For information, go to fastline.com.
