RALEIGH – The private equity firm ABRY Partners recently completed its acquisition of a majority stake in FastMed Urgent Care.

ABRY also appointed Kyle A. Bohannon as the new CEO of FastMed, replacing Kevin Blank as part of an established succession plan. Bohannon has been with FastMed for almost five years and has served as its president.

FastMed has the largest independent urgent care network in North Carolina and Arizona and the second largest network in the United States, a release says.

“ABRY Partners is very excited to represent a key component of the (FastMed)’s future development,” said Brent Stone, a partner in the equity firm, said in the release. “Kevin Blank played a central role in building FastMed into a national leader, and we thank him for his contributions. We are extremely happy to have someone of Kyle’s caliber assume the CEO role.”

FastMed provides walk-in urgent care services through board-certified physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners and other allied health professionals at its 87 clinics. Its corporate headquarters is in Raleigh.

It has clinics in Rocky Mount at 550 N. Winstead Ave. and 2001 Sunset Ave.
