TARBORO – The American Cancer Society is seeking Twin Counties business as sponsors in its Relay for Life in Edgecombe County.

The annual fundraising walk will be held from 6 p.m. May 4 through 9 a.m. May 5 at the Tarboro High School track.

Sponsorships are divided into multiple levels based on the amount pledged. The pledge amounts range from $250 to $3,500.

Sponsors will be recognized in several ways, including ads in the event program, banner placement at the track, announcements there and on some radio advertising and naming on the event’s commemorative T-shirt.

“Sponsorship in Relay For Life creates a positive corporate image and positions businesses as strong, innovative and socially committed leaders,” a news release says. “By becoming corporate sponsors, businesses gain a marketing tool to reach relay participants and the general public.”

The 2011 walk drew about 3,000 team members representing about 35 corporate, church and family teams.

Registration packets will be available beginning today. The registration deadline is 5 p.m. April 2.
