SHARPSBURG – Southern Bank will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11 a.m. Tuesday to mark the grand opening of its new branch at 3938 S. Hathaway Blvd.
Refreshments will be served, and gifts and door prizes will be given away.
The branch opened Jan. 9. It replaces the bank’s nearby longtime branch that was at 3721 N. Hathaway Blvd.
“We are very excited about the opening of our new branch office,” said Nancy Bullard, a Southern assistant vice president and the branch’s manager. “We invite everyone to join us for our grand-opening celebration and meet our staff.”
Founded in 1901, Southern Bank and Trust Co. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Southern BancShares (N.C.) Inc. Based in Mount Olive, the bank has total assets of about $2 billion and a branch network in Eastern North Carolina and Virginia. It has local branches in Rocky Mount, Battleboro, Enfield, Nashville, Red Oak and Whitakers
