A Rocky Mount insurance executive is the new chairman-elect for the Independent Insurance Agents of North Carolina.
David W. Purinai, president of MSH Insurance, was elected in July at the 114th IIANC Joint Annual Convention with Young Agents in Concord.
“I am very honored to be selected as IIANC chairman-elect,” he was quoted as saying in a release. “I know of no other industry organization that does as much to promote the independent agent and provides as many levels of support as this association.”
Purinai was re-elected to the group’s board of directors in 2008 after having served a previous six-year term. He most recently held the posts of secretary-treasurer and vice president and also has served as a liaison for many of its committees.
He also holds a number of professional designations, including Accredited Advisor of Insurance, Certified Insurance Counselor, Certified Workers Compensation Adviser and Certified Risk Manager.
In civic life, Purinai is a board member on the Rocky Mount Area Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the Tar River Civic Club.
Purinai has worked with MSH Insurance (formerly Simmons and Harris Agency and Mayo, Simmons & Harris Insurance) since 1984 and has been its president since 1990.
MSH Insurance offers personal and business insurance, including life and health and employee benefits. Its office is at 72 Azimuth Court. For information, go to mshins.com.
