Johnson earns bank promotion

Southern Bank has promoted William P. “Will” Johnson to banking officer and community banker.

Working from the bank’s branch at 224 S. Franklin St., Johnson will serve clients in the Rocky Mount and Wilson markets, a release says.

The Rocky Mount native earned a bachelor’s of science degree from Barton College in Wilson and a master’s of business administration degree from East Carolina University. He also completed the Commercial Lending School at East Carolina. He has six years experience in banking.

In civic life, he is a member of the Rocky Mount Area Jaycees and the Wilson County Young Farmers Association. Johnson and his wife, Kaylynn Corbin Johnson, live in Wilson.
