Steven Brent Long has joined the Parker Poe Law Firm in their Raleigh office as a partner in the Employment and Labor Practice Group.
Long advises businesses and individuals on tax and employee benefits matters and the design and operation of tax-qualified retirement plans, deferred compensation agreements, stock-option plans and other benefit arrangements. He also assists individuals with retirement and estate planning and the formation and operation of public charities and other tax-exempt organizations.
His other professional service includes having been chairman of the N.C. Bar Association Tax Section and president of the Triangle Benefits Forum.
In civic life, he is a member of the boards of directors of the Raleigh Hall of Fame and the John William Pope Civitas Institute.
Long graduated from Tarboro High School and earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and his juris doctorate and master of law degree in tax from Georgetown University.
Long is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Long of Tarboro and is a graduate of Tarboro High School.
