HIGH POINT — Police have arrested a man in the shooting death of another man at a town house in High Point.

Local media outlets reported that 22-year-old Kendall Rachard Thompson of High Point has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of 38-year-old Mohammad Waseem.

Police say the shooting happened in Thompson’s home Tuesday afternoon.

Capt. Timothy Ellenberger said Waseem was the uncle of Thompson’s ex-girlfriend. Ellenberger said the pair had dated for about a year and recently broke up. The woman came to Thompson’s house with her uncle and another relative to retrieve some items Tuesday.

Police say the two men argued and Waseem was shot.

It was not clear if Thompson has an attorney.
