Corrie Dean Holland and Elic Onslow
Gurganus were married at 5:00 p.m. Saturday,
October 13, 2012 at
Calvary Baptist Church.
The candlelight ceremony was performed by Rev. Brandon Dees.
Parents of the bride are Dean and Susan
Holland of Nashville.
Grandparents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Holland, Mr. John Hardy and the late Armentha Hardy, all of Nashville.
The groom is the son of Corbin and Rachel Cummings of Castalia, and Mark Gurganus of Clover, Va.
Grandparents of the groom are Mr. and Mrs. Donald Sasser of
Nashville, Mrs. Doris Gose of Mooresburg, Tenn. and Mr. and Mrs.
Robert Gurganus of Rocky Mount.
Given in marriage by her parents, the bride carried with her bridal bouquet an heirloom New Testament Bible given to her on her date of birth.
Morgan Holland of Rocky Mount, cousin of the bride, served as maid of honor.
Rebekah Hartman of Nashville, friend of the bride, served as matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Tabitha Cummings of Castalia, sister of the groom, Paula Hardy of Rocky Mount, and Kathy Hardy of Raleigh, both cousins of the bride. Fallon Curtis of Elm City, cousin of the bride, served as flower girl.
Honorary attendants were Brittany Hardy of Rocky Mount, and Kimmy Black of Nashville, both cousins of the bride.
Robert Davis of Nashville, Tenn., friend of the groom, served as best man.
Groomsmen were Seth Holland of Nashville, brother of the bride, Ethan Gurganus of
Clover, Va., brother of the groom, Greg Bradly and Donnie Garlock both of Nashville, Tennesse, both friends of the groom.
Mrs. Michelle
Williams, served as
wedding director.
Miss Joslyn
Williams, friend of the bride, served as registry attendant.
Mrs. Leslie Fowler and Ms. Laura Beth Pearce, both friends of the bride, served as
program attendants.
Reception greeters were Mrs. Mary Leigh Creedon and Miss Olivia Gonzalez.
Mrs. Dana Curtis, served as cake cutter.
Music was provided by Kristin Lee, pianist, Mrs. Beth Kupsco,
flautist, Miss Sarah Grace Bindrim,
violinist, and Mrs. Carol Davis, vocalist.
Following the
ceremony, a reception was hosted by the bride’s parents at
Benvenue Country Club.
Following a wedding trip to Savannah, Ga., the couple will live in Nashville, Tennessee.
The bride graduated from Northern Nash High School.
She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish from Barton College.
She is employed with Duke Hospital.
The groom graduated from Nash Central High School.
He attended Liberty University.
He is currently pursuing a degree in audio engineering at Sound and Audio Engineering Institute in Nashville, Tennessee.
On July 8, 2012, a miscellaneous shower was hosted by Mrs. Phyllis Hardy, Mrs. Linda Jones, and Ms. Vickie Adams at the home of Mrs. Hardy.
On July 14, 2012, a miscellaneous shower was hosted by Mrs. Mary Ellen Marshall, Mrs. Rebekah Hartman, and Mrs. Pam Strickland and friends, at the home of Mrs. Strickland.
On Aug. 5, 2012, a
miscellaneous shower was hosted by co-workers at the home of
Bernadette Bond.
On Sept. 15, 2012, a
lingerie shower was hosted by Mrs. Marilyn
Holland and Miss
Morgan Holland at the home of Marilyn
Holland.
On Oct. 7, 2012, a Bridesmaids’ luncheon was hosted by Mrs. Brenda Brown at her home in Nashville.
On Oct. 13, 2012, an
after rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom’s parents at Showside Restaurant in Spring Hope.
