The Great Depression shaped my generation and made it the “Greatest Generation,” according to Tom Brokaw.
Therefore, I hate to see things wasted or not used. Because of this, I am concerned about an abandoned bank building on Sunset Avenue. It has been vacant for a long time and should be put to some use, but what? It is structured for a bank, and the usual store or eatery just doesn’t fit. After many sleepless nights, I think I may have a use.
With it’s large glass window overlooking a drive-through lane, it could be used by a funeral home as a viewing station for the deceased. Just think of how much time could be saved. No parking or walking. Drive by, look and move on, rain or shine.
Instead of the widow standing in line for hours to hear, “I’m so sorry, is there anything I can do for you?” she could just sit by the window and wave at the viewers while sipping her coffee.
This also would eliminate the need for bulletins, programs etc. and make a perfect place for contributions in memory of the deceased. A collection box could be erected at the entrance, call it “pay for view.” Might help with the funeral bill.

Agreed, not comical but is bad taste
This was meant to be comical, but it really is in bad taste.
Viewing of the dead
When I read this letter, I was thinking to myself what kind of moron would write such utter nonsense. Do you not think that families of the deceased deserve better respect than this garbage you have suggested? It burns me to the core that you could even have such unbelievable thoughts in your head. Sit down and re-read what you have written and imagine that procedure happening to someone you truly loved and am saddened that they have passed on to another universe. You must think we live in a barbaric society to have no more respect for the dead than what you have proposed here in this illeterate writing of sorts. Good luck in your future endeavors cause you're going to need all the luck you can handle. Your family must think you belong in the nut house.
