Three suspects charged, one sought in separate domestic assaults

Three men were jailed and police are searching for a fourth man, all of whom are suspected in domestic assaults.

Police responded to a house on the 300 block of Rocky Street early Thursday morning after a 34-year-old woman reported her boyfriend hit her and attempted to sexually assault her. According to police reports, the victim got into an argument with Milton Dennis Thorpe Sr., but the argument escalated to violence when he refused to let the woman leave and assaulted her.

Thorpe, 47, was charged with sexual battery and assault on a female. He was jailed in Nash County under a $2,000 secured bond.

Officers responded to another domestic dispute Thursday night on the 2000 block of Mobile Drive after a 45-year-old woman said her ex-boyfriend, Derrick Mickel Clark, broke into her house and physically assaulted her, stole her cellphone then fled the scene. Clark, 36, was charged with felony breaking and entering, larceny and assault on a female. He was jailed in Nash County under a 48-hour domestic violence hold.

Around 3 a.m. Friday, officers were called to the 1200 block of Aycock Street after a 22-year-old woman reported her boyfriend assaulted her then fled the scene. Police reportedly found the suspect, Charles Taylor Farmer Jr., a short time later and charged him with assault on a female, assault by strangulation, possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Farmer, 38, was jailed in Nash County under a 48-hour domestic violence hold.

Less than an hour after responding to the Aycock Street assault, officers were called to the 500 block of East Highland Avenue when a 25-year-old woman called 911 after Clarence Thomas Johnson Jr. assaulted her after an argument. Johnson, 26, fled the scene before police arrived.

Warrants for assault on a female and assault by strangulation were obtained against Johnson. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 977-1111 or crimestoppers@rockymountnc.gov.
